Ladies 2xi: Bray 7–0 Malahide

Bray ladies 2nds had a busy weekend with two fixtures as the league comes to a close. Bray played a very strong Loreto team who were looking for promotion on Saturday and suffered a defeat. Bray however made amends on Sunday with a a comprehensive win against Malahide. Bray started well with great play in midfield from Yani Scully-Lane and Katie Burgess. Well worked play in the attacking circle from Rachel Maguire and Sinead Lenihan meant Bray were rewarded a number of penalty corners. Malahide defended well but Bray persisted with Lenihan opening the scoring. Bray continued to attack with great work down the wings from Aisling Delahunty and Helen Kingston causing trouble for the defense. Bray pressed forward with strong play from the back by Caroline Kennedy and Nicki Bell distributing the ball. Early in the second half Rachel Maguire persisted down the left wing and was rewarded with a great goal from a strike at the top of the circle. The goal tally continued to mount for Bray with Aoife Kenna linking up well with Kingston and Scully-Lane to secure two well struck goals. Lenihan completed a hat-trick and Avril Burgess scored a well worked goal to bring Brays tally to seven goals. It was a great team effort from Bray playing a fabulous passing game which they hope to continue now wih their final game against Avoca next weekend.
